This is the iconic Monte-Carlo hotel, right next to the Casino de Monte-Carlo, and it feels exactly like the kind of place you’d expect to find in Monaco. It’s grand, historic, and very much about the full luxury experience rather than simply having a nice room.

If I were splurging on a hotel in Monaco for the first time, this would probably be my pick.

Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo – Spa Guerlain

Hôtel Métropole is another excellent choice if you want a high-end stay in the heart of Monaco but prefer something a little more refined and contemporary.

The hotel is close to the Casino Square and has a strong focus on wellness, particularly through its Spa Guerlain. It works especially well if you want to spend as much time enjoying the hotel as you do exploring Monaco.

You don’t necessarily need to stay in a 5-star hotel to have a great time in Monaco. These three alternatives are worth considering if you want something different, potentially more relaxed, or simply don’t want to spend quite as much on accommodation.
