Vienna Solo Travel: What to Know Before Your Trip

    August 27, 2026 /

Vienna is an easy city for solo travel. It has good public transportation, plenty of hostels, and you can explore the city without needing a car or anyone else with you. My first trip to Vienna was during a three-month solo backpacking trip around Europe. I was traveling on a very tight budget, it was freezing cold, and honestly, I didn’t like Vienna much at the time. Vienna can also be an expensive city when you’re backpacking. A lot of the main things to do are museums, palaces, concerts and other paid attractions, and I simply didn’t have the budget for them. I mostly spent my time walking around the…

One Day in Vienna: How I’d Spend 24 Hours in the City

    August 24, 2026 /

Vienna is BIG, and that was probably the first thing that hit me when I arrived there from Bratislava on my first solo backpacking trip. I was still pretty new to traveling alone, had just come from a city where I could basically walk everywhere, and suddenly I was trying to figure out public transport and where the hell everything was in Vienna. That’s also why I think having a plan matters if you only have one day. You don’t want to spend half of it crossing the city backwards and forwards or trying to fit every palace and museum in Vienna into a few hours. In this guide, I’ll…

How Many Days in Vienna Do You Really Need?

    August 24, 2026 /

Vienna was one of the stops on my first three-month solo backpacking trip, and I arrived there straight from Bratislava. Going from such a small city to Vienna was a bit of a shock because suddenly everything felt HUGE and I had to figure out how to get around this massive city while still being pretty new to solo travel. Since then, I’ve been back to Vienna for a second time, so I’ve had another chance to explore the city and see whether my opinion changed. It didn’t exactly become one of my favorite places, but I’ve now seen enough of Vienna to have a pretty clear idea of how…

The Best Time to Visit Vienna (And When I’d Go Again) 2026

    August 24, 2026 /

I’ve visited Vienna twice and somehow managed to be absolutely freezing both times. And considering how much time you spend walking around Vienna, I definitely think the weather affected how much I enjoyed the city. If I went back, I would 100% choose the warmer months. But that doesn’t necessarily mean summer is the best time to visit Vienna for everyone. If you want Christmas markets, you obviously need to embrace the cold, while spring and fall can be better if you want comfortable weather without visiting in the middle of summer. In this guide, I’ll break down the best time to visit Vienna by season, when to go for…

Is Vienna Safe for Solo Female Travelers? My Experience as a Woman Traveling Alone

    August 23, 2026 /

I’ve now traveled to 62 countries, mostly alone, so by now I’ve had plenty of experience arriving in a new place by myself and figuring out how comfortable I feel there. Vienna was one of those places where I was traveling alone, and like with every new destination, safety was something I paid attention to. When you’re a woman traveling alone, you obviously think about different things than you would if you were traveling with someone else. How safe you feel walking around, using public transport, going back to your accommodation and exploring a city on your own can make a huge difference to your experience. In this guide, I’ll…

    August 23, 2026 /

I have visited Vienna twice, and I think this is gonna be a very unpopular opinion but…I did not like Vienna. I will tell you my personal experience in the city, my first impressions, what I liked and didn’t like, my favorite things to do and some practical tips to help you plan your trip. Riga Guide: The Complete Guide to Visiting Riga, Latvia

    August 16, 2026 /

I’ve spent months in Riga across multiple trips, staying in different parts of the city and coming back at different times of year. This Riga guide brings together everything I’ve learned from actually spending time here, so you don’t have to piece together your trip from ten different websites. So whether you’re coming to Riga for one day, spending a long weekend here, or using the city as a base for exploring Latvia, these are all my Riga guides in one place. Is Riga Worth Visiting? Before booking anything, you might be wondering whether Riga is actually worth adding to your itinerary. I’ve spent months here and have a pretty…

3 Days in Riga Latvia: What I Would Do With 72 Hours

    August 16, 2026 /

If I had 3 days in Riga Latvia, I wouldn’t spend all three days doing the usual Riga sightseeing. I’ve spent a lot of time in Riga, and once you’ve seen the main parts of the city, I think the extra time is better used to get outside Riga. And because this is how I travel, I’d actually be tempted to make the third day a little chaotic. My version would be: Day 1: Riga + a boat cruise or tourDay 2: A day trip outside RigaDay 3: Another day trip — and potentially another Baltic country If that sounds like way too much travel for you, don’t worry. I’ll…

One Day in Riga: What to See, Do & Eat in 24h

    August 16, 2026 /

If you only have one day in Riga, you can see a lot without turning your day into a race between attractions. I’ve spent more than two months in Riga across three visits, so I’ve had plenty of time to see the city without trying to cram everything into one day. If I were visiting Riga for the first time and only had 24 hours, these are the things I’d prioritize. I also wouldn’t try to see every museum and historical building in the city. You have one day. You can see the main sights, eat some good food, experience the Old Town, check out Riga’s Art Nouveau architecture, and…

The 5 Best Hostels in Riga, Latvia

    August 14, 2026 /

Riga has quite a few hostels to choose from, which is great if you’re traveling on a budget, but it can also make it difficult to know where to stay. I would look at the location first, especially if you’re only spending a few days in Riga. After that, it really comes down to whether you want somewhere social, somewhere in the Old Town, or somewhere a little quieter. I have stayed in Riga more than once, and Cinnamon Sally Backpackers Hostel is actually where I stayed on my first trip to the city. It’s also my favorite hostel on this list. In this guide, I’ll share the 5 best…
