Hello!

Hi! I’m Rita, a 28 year-old Portuguese girl who has fallen in love with the world. At 21 I moved to Switzerland to study abroad and I came home with hitchy feet. I then got a job, saved money and in 2015 embarked on the biggest adventure of my life and traveled solo to 13 countries in Europe. This trip changed my life! I suddenly found a new side of me I loved and traveling solo became my passion. After 26 countries visited solo, all I want is to inspire other women to leave their comfort zone and find their inner strenght to conquer this world on their own. With my stories and travel tips I hope I can help you find your way as a solo traveler and make your dreams come true.

RITA 🇵🇹 BUDGET SOLO TRAVEL
It’s now been almost three weeks since I first l It’s now been almost three weeks since I first landed in Dubai and every single day I feel blessed to be here.

UAE is my country 30, and it was a long while since I traveled to a new country.

Life took many turns and my dreams were on stand by so that I could get back up from the ground and put my life back together.

Being in Dubai for this time and starting my year in a new place has given me hope for all the good things that are still to come, and it has reminded me of what truly makes me happy.

➡️ HOW TO GET TO BLUEWATERS DUBAI:
Bluewaters Dubai is an island connected to the Marina area and JBR beach 🏝️
• Get the metro red line to DMCC metro station 🚉
• From DMCC station I would advise you to walk to Bluewaters, taking in the scenery of the Dubai Marina Walk and the JBR. It’s about 30 minutes walking but so worth it 🥰
• There are boats running between Bluewaters island & Marina Mall for only 5 AED from 4:50pm till 11:25pm. Tickets are bought at the RTA kiosks.
• Depending on what time you plan on being at Bluewaters I would say walk there and enjoy the Bluewaters pedestrian bridge and the island views. Take the boat to return to the marina 😊

Taking a day trip to Abu Dhabi was on my list of t Taking a day trip to Abu Dhabi was on my list of this to do while in the UAE 🇦🇪 it almost didn’t happen as all I could find were expensive tours that would cost around 100€. But the universe was on my side and my colleagues told me there was a local bus that you can take from Dubai to Abu Dhabi for as little as 5€ 😍

We woke up early, took the 2h full of people bus and hello Abu Dhabi and another item on my list was completed!!

We visited the Emirates Palace, walked along the Corniche and ended our day visiting the Sheikh Zane’s Grand Mosque 🕌

I have to say Abu Dhabi was NOT one of my favorite places, but I’m really happy I went to see it with my own eyes 😊

A boat ride in Dubai for 0,25€? Yes, please 🙌 A boat ride in Dubai for 0,25€? Yes, please 🙌

When they tell you everything is expensive in Dubai but still you are finding nice things to do for free or that are very cheap 😅

I have to admit that for 0,25€ I wasn’t expecting much, but riding an Abra in the Dubai creek was so much fun and such a great experience 😍

➡️ How can you do this?
- Head over to the Dubai Creek
- Get an Abra boat at: Deira Old Souq | Al Sabkha | Baniyas
- Pay the 1 AED directly on the Abra
- Cross the creek on the cheapest boat ever to: Dubai Old Souq | Al Fahidi | Al Seef

Traveling to new places and embracing everything o Traveling to new places and embracing everything other cultures have to offer me is what makes my heart full.

I started this year by telling myself that I will enjoy every opportunity I’m given, I will force myself out of bed even when I’m tired or lazy, and I will enjoy my days doing things that make me happy ✨

January has been an incredible month already and I feel it’s due to this new mindset and to manifesting that this year will be a good year.

Travel is slowly healing me and making me feel more like myself ❤️

Started the year by hoping on a flight and spendin Started the year by hoping on a flight and spending one week in Vilnius, Lithuania. Can’t think of a better way to start a new year than to travel and take every chance I’m given to explore and to make some memories.

I wouldn’t really recommend visiting Lithuania in the winter, unless you are a true winter lover and can handle negative temperatures, as it was extremely cold and I was struggling to even be outside. I’m a girl that loves the snow but can’t handle the cold. Lets say I spent the week battling between I want to explore and I can’t get sick 😅

Overall I had such a nice time in Vilnius. I got to see snow, meet new people and make new friends and most importantly, I started my year by pushing myself to get outside and explore no matter the conditions and no matter how lazy or cold I feel.

✨ Here’s to a year full of good memories with good people and lots of travel ❤️

❓ Have you been to Lithuania? What did you think ? Let me know in the comments below ⬇️
